I envy myself for considering you my soul mate
Yet, am afraid of your betrayal, so let not disloyalty dictate
I don't mind your rejection, I mean what I say
So long as you are pleased with me in every way
And should you close all doors in my face
My heart will still open the door of hope and grace
If I were to enfold you, you would be my dream
And if I were to unfold you, you would be my song and theme
Before you, love had neither meaning nor taste
And longings were ever powerless to annihilate
When I first saw you, I said: Ah! Indeed
The full gamut of beauty to my eyes revealed
If my eyes look at someone else, and they'll never do
In that form they will see only you
When I walk, I walk only in your direction, steadfast
Even if paths walk away from me, leaving me bewildered, lost
When the hour of parting comes, do not say farewell, but stay
And when the moment of departure arrives, do not leave me and walk away
Beloved, if you left me I cannot live
Nor will I be able to enjoy life and love
When you are no longer in my life
My happiness and peace will abandon me to strife
Why are other women jealous of me, I don't understand
