Benedict XVI to attend this weekend’s Consistory

The Emeritus Pope also attended the last Consistory convoked by Francis in February 2014, where he exchanged a moving embrace with the current pontiff

اقتباس :: Benedict XVI will be attending the Consistory for the creation of 20 new cardinals, presided over by his successor, Pope Francis, in St. Peter’s Basilica, at 11 am tomorrow.
The Emeritus Pope also attended the last Consistory held on 22 February 2014, which created 19 new cardinals.
At the beginning of last year’s ceremony, Francis affectionately greeted Benedict XVI, who humbly removed his zucchetto as Pope Francis approached him. The two exchanged a fraternal embrace amid the long and excited applause of those present.
