Muslim man converts to Christianity- Then plants 50 churches!

LOS ANGELES, CA: One man called Sanjay, for protection purposes, grew up a devout Muslim. He fell victim to cancer and was so ill, he did something he never thought he ever would - he asked Jesus for help.

"I was crying, and the one name that I did not want to believe in came back to me again and again - the name of Jesus," Sanjay told Christian Today.
"I was so weak and so sick. So I prayed to the Lord Jesus and said, 'will you heal me?'"

His healing was not immediate, but Sanjay described that he began to feel better, little by little. When he realized he had been changed by God, he turned to a hospital for tests.

To his surprise, there was no trace of the cancer that had previously spread through his body.

"I saw that only Jesus can save my life," he admitted, "nobody else can."

He knew it was Jesus, not Allah, who had called to him then had mercifully answered his prayer.

Sanjay admitted his home in West Bengal was a Muslim village, so when his newfound faith boiled over and he began to share his story and preach the gospel, no one was willing to listen.

"My family threw me out," he stated. "They said, 'we want nothing to do with you. Since you have Jesus you can just go away.'"

Sanjay, who is a doctor, had an office that was broken into after he announced his love for christ. "They decided to break into my doctor's office where patients used to come and see me," he recalled.

His fear of being physically attacked only strengthened his faith and he prayed to God for protection, which was answered when his mother felt compassion toward her son and allowed him to return to the family home.

Sanjay continued to spread the Word and share his story, and for years he was persecuted in his own community, but no matter what happened, he refused to stop.

He continued with his medical practice and became an evangelist through the UK charity BMS World Mission.

Through Christ, Sanjay decided to forgive those who persecuted him and even accepted them as patients at his office.

"People who persecuted me for many years got tired," he shared. "They said, 'the more we tell him not to speak, the more he goes out and preaches.' People who wanted to throw me out, now they bring their patients to me and say, 'we're so sorry.'"
Since he began his evangelical life, Sanjay has successfully planted fifty churches for previously Muslim peoples and has decided to continue God's work for as long as possible.

"Apart from Jesus there is no life," he said. "I am even more excited to tell others what Jesus has done. Every day I want to live for my Lord and keep on doing what I'm doing. Please pray that I can do more in the days to come."
