An elderly woman was returned to her family after getting lost at Dubai International Airport for nearly 12 hours.
Dubai Police had received a frantic call from the daughter of the elderly woman who lives in Johannesburg, after she lost all contact with her mother at Dubai Airport, as per Al Bayan report. 
Brigadier Mohammed bin Daylan Al Mazrouei, director of the directorate general of airport security, said: The woman was supposed to have left Dubai International Airport aboard a flight headed to the US.
"Her mother," he added, "Doesn't speak English, suffers from high blood pressure, and was carrying no cash on her person." 
The woman had arrived on an Emirates flight from Johannesburg, with a connecting flight in Dubai before embarking to Seattle. 
A quick search revealed that she hadn't reported to the boarding gate. After distributing her passport photo to all security personnel, the woman was found two hours later near a restaurant at Concourse A in Terminal 3. 
They found her in a fatigued state. She was given food, water, and medical care to revive her.  
The Directorate General of Airport Security, Dubai Airports, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, and Emirates cooperated in buying a plane ticket for the elderly woman. Her financial situation was strained after she had missed her flight. 
She was transferred to the disability lounge so her health would remain under surveillance until she left the airport. Airport personnel contacted the daughter, who spoke with her mother and informed her of all the new flight arrangements. 
Al Mazrouei said, "We gave truth to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, about being positivity and happiness. We strive to make people happy. We always try to improve customer satisfaction, exceeding their expectations with our service."
The mother and daughter thanked everyone for their kindness and hospitality.
