The ceremony took place during 4:30pm Mass and was witnessed by family, friends, and parishoners. The event was also broadcast live on Kaldu.tv. Two of the sisters made their Temporary vows, Sister Eman Rofaeel, who took the name Sister Veronica Mariam, and Sister Monica Yousif, who is now Sister Warda Mariam. During the ceremony, they were vested with the cream habit, green cincture (belt) and veil of a Temporary Professed sister. The newest member of the Workers of the Vineyard, now Sister Caroline Harvey also made her Novitiate promise. She was given the green jumper and white veil of a Novice as well as the title "Sister". She has promised nine months of dedicated service and will continue her discerment. It is always a powerful sight to see such young women dedicate themselves fully to the service of the Lord and His Church. During his homily, His Excellency, Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo explained the linguistic history of the Chaldean title "Rabbanta" or "Rabbanytha" as the sisters are called in Chaldean and its closeness to Christ. The root comes from the word "Rabbi" which means teacher. Like Christ, the sisters are called to teach through their actions and words. This is especially fitting for the Workers of the Vineyard who are a teaching order. The community was started by Mar Sarhad in 2007 and has grown from three to seven members since that time. In 2012, two of the original members, Sisters Miskenta and Tarbytha, made their final vows. Of the seven women, two have made their Final Profession, four are now in their Temporary Vows and one is in her Novitiate. May Our Lady of the Fields, the patroness of the order, watch over the sisters that they may serve in the Lord's Vineyard faithfully and with open hearts.
