The ISIS threat

اقتباس :
Today, ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) is on mind of every human being even that its history of its existence has not been that long. The inhuman, barbaric and anti God practices by these organized gangs of extremist jihadi Muslims have stunned the world and made everyone to look behind him and say who is next.

With an agenda of implementing Islamic sharia law, imposing jizya/tax on non-Muslims and working to establish the Caliphate rule marinated in a radical and jihadist ideology and willingness to use barbaric acts of violence, the ISIS have successes in gaining more lands, financial strength and mercenaries.

In the past several weeks, the world watched the events unfolding in matter of days where villages, towns and major cities in Iraq were falling in the hands of the gangs of ISIS. Thousands of Christians, the peaceful, loyal and indigenous people of Iraq have been forced out of their homes having the options of changing their religion, face death or flee from their historical lands.

Governments and the entire world watched the suffering of these people and the brutality of the aggressor where beside killing people, crosses were removed from churches, Christian religious institutions and churches destroyed , women ordered to completely veil themselves and not leave home unless being escorted with a male, ordering unmarried women to report for " sexual Jihad", marking Christian homes with the Arabic letter "N" standing for the word Nasrani meaning Christian in a degrading connotation and confiscating homes of Christians.

Then in more brutal and savage behavior, thousands of Yazidi people were targeted and forced to flee their homes for the same reasons.

Returning to status quo that of before June 10, 2014 seems more a dream than a realty. These days the Christian and Yazidi people of Iraq are agreeing to accept the idea of safe haven in a designated area internationally protected or flee and immigrate to the western countries. At the same time, we are hearing of calls by few for arms to protect those remaining in different towns and cities of Kurdistan Region in North of Iraq.

The Christian clergy seems have lost hope or at least don't have enough valid reasons in persuading the people to stay foot especially when an estimated 200,000 Christians have been displaced from their homes living temporally in churches, schools, parks and even in streets without any hope for a better future when the government of Iraq lacks the guts and ability to rule and provide safety and security to its citizens.

The threat of ISIS is beyond comprehension and have no geographical boundaries that will spread in matter of very short time to areas and countries like a domino effect.

The international community led by the United States have the moral, political and military obligation to eradicate these people from their roots today before tomorrow. The limited military use by the United States in the past few days to reduce the threat of ISIS proves to the world that the U.S. foreign policy is questionable.

It is very surprising how the U.S. chooses the timing and the type of enemy to fight. When stabled countries were functioning normally on the hands of dictators like Sadam Hussian of Iraq and Muammar Gaddafi of Liyba and Bashar Assad of Syria, the west under the influence of the US foreign policy masterminded a new theory of the so called "Arab Spring" where it didn't hesitate to take action in a brutal and sophisticated military action even that there was no direct or indirect threat to its sovereign territories and life style.

The question today, is why has been the United States administration so silent till now to make the correct move to uproot this dangerous disease from the face of the earth since their threat is growing. Chuck Hagel, the U.S. defense secretary said just today that "the threat from Islamic State was beyond anything we've seen".

The most important question to be asked is who and how this movement came to existence and who would ever think of supporting it but in politics everything is possible!!
